Privacy Policy
At KCSL Inc. (KCSL) we respect your privacy and are committed to keeping your personal information private and secure. Our Privacy Policy, which has been developed in compliance with the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA), adheres to the ten principles listed in PIPEDA.
Principle 1 – Accountability
KCSL is responsible and accountable for the personal information it holds. Our Privacy Officer oversees compliance with our Privacy Policy. You have the right to know the personal information that has been collected about you, how it is being used, to whom it has been disclosed, to challenge its accuracy, and to have it corrected, if necessary.
KCSL has no control over sites accessed by hyperlinks provided on our sites. We are not responsible for the privacy practices or the content of such sites. For your protection, we recommend that you review the respective privacy statements on these sites.
Principle 2 – Identifying Purposes
The personal information we collect will be used to identify you, to send you information you have requested about our products and services, to respond to service requests, to handle service problems, to improve the quality of our services, and to notify you about other things such as updates, upgrades and new products.
Principle 3 – Consent
By submitting personally identifying information, visitors to KCSL’s web sites expressly consent to the use of such information as described in this Privacy Policy. In entering such information relating to someone other than yourself, you confirm that you have their express consent to our use of such information for the purposes detailed in this Privacy Policy.
When personal information is collected other than via its web sites KCSL will explain to the individual how the information will be used and will obtain the individual’s consent to collect, use and disclose it.
We require a minimum amount of personal information in order to provide services to you. The withdrawal of consent may prevent us from continuing to provide you with some services.
Principle 4 – Limiting Collection
KCSL collects information, which can identify individuals, only for the purposes identified previously in our Privacy Policy.
You may visit and browse our web sites without contributing any personal information about yourself. However, in some instances, we require you to provide identifiable information, such as your name, e-mail address, mailing address, and telephone number.
Our servers automatically log information about visits to our sites. The server logs record statistical information, such as, the Internet Protocol (IP) address of computers that visit our sites, web pages requested, and the time and duration of the visit.
KCSL web sites use per-session cookies. We do not use persistent cookies to collect information about you.
Principle 5 – Limiting Use, Disclosure, and Retention
KCSL will not use or disclose your personal information, including your uploaded proprietary files, for purposes other than those for which it was collected, unless you consent, or as permitted or required by law.
We retain personal information; (i) until a user with appropriate authorization requests in writing that we amend or delete information; (ii) until client access is no longer required; (iii) while there is a reasonable business need associated with KCSL for its retention; or (iv) as required by law.
Thus, unless we have your consent or unless the law requires disclosure, KCSL will not disclose personal information to third parties. In particular, KCSL will not sell, lease, trade or barter any of the information gathered to third parties. However, it may be necessary for KCSL to provide your personal information to our distributors so that they may notify you of things, such as, upgrades, updates, and new products.
The server log statistics are reported in aggregate form and are used to improve our web sites. We do not link server log information, such as IP addresses, to any other data in any way that would enable us to identify individual visitors.
Our sites make use of per-session cookies. Unlike persistent cookies, that are stored on your hard drive and can last for years, per-session cookies are stored only in your browser’s temporary (cache) memory and are deleted when you shut down your browser. From the aggregated information on unique visits, we learn, for example, how visitors interact with our sites and how we can improve the design and content of our sites.
Principle 6 – Accuracy
To the extent reasonably possible KCSL takes steps to ensure that your personal information is as accurate, complete and up-to-date as is necessary for the purpose for which KCSL uses it.
Principle 7 – Safeguards
We take all reasonable steps to protect the information you share with us from unauthorized access or disclosure.
We have physical, procedural and electronic safeguards in place to protect personal information from loss, theft, unauthorized use or access.
Access to such information is limited to authorized personnel who are under a duty to maintain the confidentiality and security of personally identifying information.
Information provided by you is encrypted using Secure Socket Layer (SSL) Protocol, which encodes information as it is sent over the Internet. Your information is password protected and is only made available to people who require it for one of the purposes identified above.
Unauthorized individuals attempting to access password protected and/or other secure areas of our web sites may be subject to prosecution.
Our use of per-session cookies ensures your online privacy and security because: (i) the contents of our per-session cookies are not linked, shared or associated in any way with personal information that you may have supplied to us or made available elsewhere; (ii) a new and unique session cookie is randomly generated for each visit, which means that we cannot track or link together multiple visits by any single user over time; and, (iii) our per-session cookies cannot be read by any other web servers, meaning that you cannot be tracked or profiled using our cookie when you surf across multiple sites on the Internet.
Principle 8 – Openness
Upon request KCSL will provide you with specific information about our policies and practices relating to the management of personal information.
Principle 9 – Individual Access
If you wish to review, correct or remove any personal information that KCSL has about you please contact us.
Principle 10 – Challenging Compliance
