External TM Option

With the document(s) uploaded you can now upload a TM. However, before you do so you are given the option to use your own TM and/or an External TM for your enhancement job.

Project/Job Info The box at the top of many pages has details about the TM enhancement project/job. On this page, it displays the project name, type of Enhancer project, and document (source) language selected. Supported Language Pairs NoBabel Enhancer supports all English, French, Italian, German, and Spanish (EFIGS) bidirectional language pairs.   Also it supports in both directions English paired with: Dutch Polish Portuguese Russian Arabic Chinese Japanese Korean The source and target languages of the TM must be 1 of the supported language pairs. The NoBabel system automatically determines the source and target languages of uploaded TM Files. Zip files can contain only 1 TM.

Supported File Formats

The TM File formats that the Enhancer supports are:

·          .tmx

·          .txt

·          .zip

Zip files can contain only 1 TM and it must be in 1 of the supported formats.

Option – External TM

Your own TM and an External TM, that is, a TM not supplied by you, can be used in the processing of your TM enhancement job.

The more closely the new document(s) and TM(s) are related, and the more extensive the TM(s), the more useful the new TUs generated by the Enhancer will be in translating the documents.

A related TM’s source language must be the same language as the language of the document(s) to be translated and also, its content should be similar to that of the document(s).

Using an External TM may yield additional leveraging. When you do not have your own related TM then you can use only an External TM, one that is not yours. If you want only an External TM used in the processing of your job you must, using the drop down menu, select the Target Language for this project. You can choose whether to have an External TM used by selecting, in response to the question, “What TM(s) do you want used in the processing of your job?”, “Only My TM” or “My TM and External TM” or “Only External TM”.

Please note that the default choice is “Only My TM”. If this is not your preference select the choice you prefer by clicking the radio button beside it.

To proceed, at the bottom of this page, click the “Next” button.

Step 3:  Processing External TM Decision

If you select “Only My TM” or “My TM and External TM”, after you click the Next” button, the job will automatically proceed to the “Upload TM” page, where you can upload your own related TM.

However, if you choose “Only External TM” after you click the “Next” button, your project will proceed automatically directly to “Step 4:  Review and Submit Job”.
