NoBabel™ Enhancer Advanced User Guide

Project Management:  Select, Review and Submit Job Documents and TMs

Having uploaded document(s) and TM(s), you can now select from the available ones, those you want to use for

your TM enhancement job(s).

Uploaded Documents

You must select at least 1 of the available uploaded documents for each TM enhancement job.

The “Uploaded Documents” table lists the available uploaded documents. For each Document File there is a

checkbox

and a “Delete” button and, also, its name and when it was uploaded are displayed.

Advanced Common Project – A Common project can have only 1 of the supported languages as its source

language. For each Document File the document (source) language selected is displayed. You select the

document(s) you want run for the job in this table and the related TM(s) in the “Uploaded TMs” table.

Advanced Mixed Project – A Mixed project can have 1 or more of the supported languages as its source

language(s). For each Document File, the document (source) language selected for it and also, a target

language is displayed. You select both the document(s) and related TM(s) you want run for the job(s) in

this table.

For each uploaded Document File there is a dropdown menu with a list of possible target

languages. The NoBabel system automatically determines the source and target languages of

uploaded TMs. The target language options are derived from the available uploaded related TM(s).

A related TM’s source language must be the same language as the language of the selected

document(s), the one(s) to be translated, and its content should be similar to that of the document(s).

From the list, select the target language, that is, the TM(s) to be enhanced for this

individual job.

Option – Merge TMs:  If for a Mixed project more than 1 TM has been uploaded with the same target

language, as well as source language, then one option you can select from the dropdown menu is

to have these TMs merged, for example, French [Merge]. Merging like source and target language

TMs into 1 TM will create 1 Enhancer TM for each selected uploaded document. It is recommended

that this option be chosen.

You can select or unselect the documents you want to use individually by clicking the relevant checkbox.

Also, above the top right corner of the table, you can select all of them at once by clicking "Select All" or unselect

all at once by clicking “Select None”.

Any documents you have changed your mind about using in the project, you can delete individually by selecting

the document and then clicking the "Delete" button for it or, you can delete multiple documents simultaneously

by clicking the relevant checkboxes to select the documents and then, below the lower right corner of the table,

clicking the "Delete Selected Documents" button.

When a Document File is deleted, a message stating that it has been done will be shown in the “Select,

Review and Submit Job Documents and TMs” section.

Once you have selected the document(s) and TM(s) you want run for your TM enhancement job(s) to proceed,

click the “Next” button.

Uploaded TMs

AAt least 1 of the available uploaded TMs must be selected for each enhancement job.

The TM(s) selected must be related to the document(s) selected in the “Uploaded Documents” table. A related

TM’s source language must be the same language as the language of the selected uploaded document(s), the

one(s) to be translated, and its content should be similar to that of the document(s).

The more closely the new document(s) and TM(s) are related, and the more extensive the TM(s), the more

useful the new TUs generated by the Enhancer will be in translating the documents.

The NoBabel system automatically determines the source and target languages of uploaded TMs.

The “Uploaded TMs” table lists the available uploaded TMs. For each TM File when it was uploaded, its name,

and its source and target languages are displayed. As well, there is a checkbox and a “Delete” button for it.

Advanced Common and Mixed Projects – Since both Common and Mixed projects can have 1 or more target

language(s), for any selected document if you upload and then choose more than 1 related TM, the selected TMs

can have different target languages.

Advanced Common Project/span> – You must select the document(s) you want run for the job in the “Uploaded

Documents” table and the related TM(s) in this table. You must use the TM checkboxes both to select

the TM(s) to be run for your job(s) and also the TM(s) for deletion.

Advanced Mixed ProjectYou do not need to use the TM checkboxes to select the TM(s) to be run

for your job(s), you need to use them only to select the TM(s) for deletion. You must select both the

document(s) and the related TM(s) you want run for your job(s) in the “Uploaded Documents” table.

For each uploaded Document File there is a dropdown menu with a list of possible target languages.

The NoBabel system automatically determines the source and target languages of uploaded TMs. The target

language options are derived from the available uploaded related TM(s). A related TM’s source language must be

the same language as the language of the selected document(s), the one(s) to be translated, and its content

should be similar to that of the document(s). From the list, select the target language, that is, the TM(s) to be

enhanced for this individual job

Option – Merge TMs:  If for a Mixed project more than 1 TM has been uploaded with the same target language,

as well as source language, then one option you can select from the dropdown menu is to have the TMs merged,

for example, French [Merge]. Merging like source and target language TMs into 1 TM will create 1 Enhancer TM

for each selected uploaded document. It is recommended that this option be chosen.

You can select or unselect TMs individually by clicking the relevant checkbox. Also, above the top right corner of

the table, you can select all of them at once by clicking "Select All" or unselect all at once by clicking

“Select None”.

Any TMs you have changed your mind about using in the project, you can delete individually by selecting the TM /span>

aand then clicking the "Delete" button for it or, you can delete multiple TMs simultaneously by clicking the relevant

checkboxes to select the TMs and then, below the right corner of the table, clicking the "Delete Selected TMs"

button.

When a TM File is deleted, a message stating that it has been done will be shown in the “Select, Review and /span>

Submit Job Documents and TMs” section.

Once you have selected the document(s) and TM(s) you want run for your TM enhancement job(s) to proceed,

click the “Next” button.

Option – Merge TMs

Advanced Common Project – A Common project has an “Option – Merge TMs” box under the “Uploaded

TMs” table. Merging like source and target language TMs into 1 TM will create 1 Enhancer TM for each selected

uploaded document. It is recommended that this option be chosen.

You can choose whether to merge TMs by, in response to the question, “Do you want to merge like source and /span>

target TMs?” selecting “Yes” or “No”..

Please note that the default choice is “Yes”. If this is not your preference, select the choice you prefer by

clicking the radio button beside it.

Advanced Mixed Project – A Mixed project does not have an “Option – Merge TMs” box under the “Uploaded

TMs” table. When you select the target language for each Document File in the “Uploaded Documents” table

you can choose then whether to merge like source and target language TMs.
